We offer care and support services for young adults with disabilities/learning difficulties throughout Devon and Torbay.
Thousands of people in the UK have a learning disability that affects their daily life. Our fully trained and experienced carers can support you or your loved one, however you experience life. Whether it's through live-in or respite care or frequent daily visits, our care assistants concentrate on their client's gifts and strengths and empower them to be as independent as possible, using a combination of teaching, encouragement and ongoing support we can help people with specific learning disabilities, including autism, Down Syndrome and transitioning into adulthood with a learning disability.
Our care assistants can help encourage socialising and hobbies, as well as giving extra support with language, learning and speech. Often our carers become friends and our companion support service is a popular extra to support with personal care, domestic duties, and meal preparation.
No matter what condition affects our clients, the commitment and care of our teams allows our clients to live as safely and independently as possible.
The tasks that our personal care packages can help with include:
- Washing and dressing
- Showering
- Bathing
- Food preparation
- Medication prompting
- Maintenance of medical support (catheters, PEG feeding and colostomies)
High quality staff
All staff are criminal record checked and references are obtained. Full mandatory training and specialist training is given to each staff member. This training will be refreshed on a regular basis to ensure correct practices are being used within the community.
